Leukemia is the most common blood cancer in children. Cancer is diagnosed each year in about 175,000 children aged 14 and below worldwide with varying survival rates. The causes of childhood cancer are not fully understood with genetic mutations being the most probable cause. These mutations occur by chance and are not affected by environment or lifestyle. At Flow Cytometry Centre, we offer leukaemia immunophenotyping for free to children suffering from leukaemia. We do this in collaboration with KidzCan Zimbabwe, Parirenyatwa Hospital Pediatric Oncology and St Judes Children’s Hospital USA.
